Sally confirmed the change in ownership in a phone call with What Now Nashville.
David — Allison’s cousin and longtime customer at Calypso Cafe — does not plan on changing the menu but does hope to increase hours of operation and eventually expand to additional locations, according to the Nashville Business Journal.
The cafe operates at 700 Thompson Lane and focuses on serving a healthy comfort menu. Offerings include salads, pulled BBQ white chicken, rotisserie chicken, sandwiches and sides like black beans and sweet potatoes. It focuses on being a reliable neighborhood cafe for locals.
“Calypso’s mission is simple…high quality, hearty, healthy food at a reasonable price with quick and friendly service,” the Calypso Cafe website states. “We focused on nutrition — and value — from the beginning with our famous Black Beans, Bountiful Salads, Rotisserie Chicken, Vegetarian (Vegan too!) sides and Island Burgers.”
Calypso also offers catering services.
