Luigi and Kimberley Lucas are behind the family-owned and operated winery, which got its start in 2016 in Moorpark, California. They have a tasting room located in Moorpark, as well.
The Lucases were drawn to Nashville when they visited a few years ago.
“[My wife] fell in love with the people of Nashville and of Tennessee. We started coming every two months, and it got to the point where we thought we should just get an apartment,” Luigi told What Now Nashville. “It feels like home to us.”
Now, the couple has been in the area for a few years and they are looking to bring a community-focused wine tasting room to Wedgewood-Houston. Luigi said their theme is “welcome to our house,” meaning their goal is to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere for guests.
The design will offer couches, quaint seating and common tables. They will also have an outdoor patio and nightly live music in a singer-songwriter style.
“It will be a place for people to have conversations and feel at home,” Luigi said. “It’s not your typical bar scene. It’s like being in someone’s backyard or living room.”
Wine offerings will include bottles, glasses and flights. There will also be rotating craft beers from local breweries on the menu.
Luigi said they are currently in the process of buildout and they are targeting an early spring opening.
The Lucases hope to become a location in Nashville that will host community events like art walks.
“We want to hear what the community wants,” Luigi said. “We want to be that community place.”
