The brewery is set to open in late 2023, after being first announced in March of 2022. An exact grand-opening date has not yet been determined.

The McGavock House building, named after Nashville’s influential McGavock family, dates back to the 1840’s and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2007. Renovations and construction to turn it into Good People’s Nashville outpost has taken a significant amount of time compared to other new breweries in the area, given regulations set in place to preserve the history of the building.

Good People Brewing, co-founded by Eric Schultenover, Jason Malone and Michael Sellers, has been operating since 2006 and over the years has acquired a number of accolades and other breweries under its label. In 2017, Good People acquired Avondale Brewing, which has been a staple beer brand in various Nashville local grocery stores.

The brewing company currently offers a variety of different beers, with a focus on IPA’s as their main style. It is unclear if the Nashville location will offer food alongside its beer. Currently, food trucks visit the Birmingham location throughout the week, according to Good People’s website.

It’s expected that the Nashville location of Good People will have many similarities to its flagship location while also paying tribute to Nashville’s unique culture, being located in such a historically important building.
