Franchisee Matt Higgins, who opened the Handel’s location in Franklin this past fall, previously told What Now Nashville that he had inked a lease at the Nashville Yards development.

The spot will be in one of the residential buildings in the development called The Everett and is expected to open this coming spring, according to reporting by the Nashville Post.

The Nashville Yards location will be the third Handel’s in the area, following the Franklin location that opened last year and a previous location in Hendersonville. The brand, founded in 1945 in Ohio, is known for its wide variety of flavors. Now, it has more than 100 franchise locations across the country.

“A big differentiator for Handel’s is 48 flavors at all times, so tons of options,” Higgins told What Now Nashville in a previous interview. “We make our ice cream in house. So it’s homemade, fresh-made daily. We make all the ice cream on-site right in the building.”

Nashville Yards has multiple concepts currently heading to the development, including Earl’s Kitchen + Bar, The Wine Bar and highly anticipated venue The Pinnacle, which is slated to open next month.
