Steve Palmer, who now serves as the “chief vision officer” for the group, according to its website, founded the hospitality group in 2009 in Charleston, South Carolina. Since then, Indigo Road Hospitality Group has added multiple hotels and restaurants to its portfolio, spreading north to North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and south to Georgia and Florida.

Indigo Road has a couple other concepts already in Nashville, including Oak Steakhouse, which opened in 2017, and sushi concept O-Ku, which opened in 2019.

O-Ku is also in the Germantown neighborhood and will be located across the street from Indaco.

This will be the fifth location for the Indaco concept, which is already open in Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte and Greenville.

Indaco serves an Italian menu, with appetizers like focaccia and burrata; pizzas like margherita and Italian sausage; pastas ranging from spaghetti to bucatini; and entrees like market fish and grilled pork chops. It also offers a three-course, family-style meal chosen by the chef for a set price.

The beverage program consists of wine, beer and cocktails.

Palmer told the Nashville Business Journal that the space will be bright and lively, and it will have a patio area and an open kitchen. It will seat about 150 guests total between indoor and outdoor seating.

“Germantown is one of Nashville’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Any time a restaurateur chooses to open a concept in a particular place, wherever that may be, I think it’s personal; they resonate with that neighborhood. Maybe they believe that is where their customer, their audience is. I always say, if I lived in Nashville, I would want to live in Germantown. I just love the neighborhood,” Palmer told the Nashville Business Journal.
