Chef Tony Mantuano and Cathy Mantuano, who played large roles in conceptualizing the Italian restaurant alongside Joel Pizzuti, the CEO of the Pizzuti Companies, are leaving the partnership as of Aug. 31. However, the Yolan brand will continue on under the umbrella of the Pizzuti Companies, which owns the luxury hotel The Joseph where Yolan is located.
“Since bonding over a shared love of proper Italian espresso during our first meeting, I’ve been fortunate to develop a great friendship with the Mantuanos over the past six years. I am incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished as partners and appreciate their stewardship of Yolan since opening,” said Pizzuti in a release, according to the Nashville Business Journal.
Head sous chef Selim Ulker and executive chef Jeff Axline will continue to lead the kitchen. There are not expected to be any major shifts in menu or concept, and the team has indicated that it wants to keep the restaurant the same as normal for guests.
Yolan is known for its pasta, focaccia, cocktails and an extensive wine list. It also serves entrees like braised lobster mushroom and grilled sirloin.
“We are excited to build on the restaurant’s success and esteemed reputation, as we welcome our loyal guests, locals and visitors from across the world,” reads a release from The Joseph.
