With the impending opening of Sunset on Belcourt, entrepreneurs Joe Johnson and Robert Higgins are putting the final piece of the puzzle in place for their grand plans for the “Belcourt Square”. Make a Play Hospitality is behind Sunset on Belcourt as well as the other three operations completing the square: Supper Club on Belcourt, Bungalow10 and Jar Tapas + Cocktail.

What Now Nashville spoke with Johnson over the phone.
“I always thought very highly of the Belcourt area in Hillsboro Village, and I’ve wanted to open a restaurant in this area for decades,” said Johnson. “At one time in Nashville, this was the place to eat, drink and be seen. My partners and I jumped on the opportunity to bring our vision for the ‘Belcourt Square’ to life.”
Sunset on Belcourt will be directly behind Supper Club on Belcourt, an upscale American steakhouse. Sunset’s defining characteristic is that it is entirely outdoors. In total there will be 45 employees at Sunset on Belcourt.
According to a press release shared with What Now Nashville, Sunset on Belcourt will be a 3,400 square-foot patio with lounge seating, high top tables, a bar and booths. Total capacity is 185. Musicians and DJs will liven up the space with evening performances. Cigar aficionados can order from Sunset on Belcourt’s selection or they can bring their own cigars to enjoy in the space.
The menu will center around tapas-style food and large plates, including lamb chops, NY strip steaks and Cajun pasta. There will be an extensive cocktail menu for guests to choose from as well.
“Sunset on Belcourt will complete the vision of having four different experiences right next to each other,” said Johnson. “It is going to be a one-stop-shop. We are looking forward to Nashvillians and tourists giving us the opportunity to give them great drinks, cocktails, food and a good time.”
Sunset on Belcourt plans to host a Grand Opening sometime around mid-July.
