What Now Nashville conducted an email Q&A with the new location’s owner and operator, Vijay Patel.

“I have operated quick service sandwich shops for the past 26 years,” said Patel. “In addition to food retail, I have extensive experience in other consumer retail business and services. I have a long and solid history of understanding the parts and pieces of owning and operating retail locations in a variety of settings (freestanding, and as part of a development). My son led me to opening my first franchise location when he told me how enjoyable their sandwiches are, this allowed me to dive in deeper into the  Schlotzsky’s organization. After getting in contact with team members, I could not wait to open my very own franchise.”

This will be Patel’s first franchise with Schlotzsky’s. He intends to open additional locations in the coming years.

An article in Murfreesboro Pulse reports that Schlotzsky’s previously had a deli in Murfreesboro that closed years ago.

This location on Veterans Parkway will be a new building customized to Schlotzsky’s exact needs. At this time, the building is currently under construction. There will be 28 seats for diners inside. For those needing to keep things quick, there will be a drive-thru as well as a mobile order pickup station.

“We are excited to bring mouth-watering favorites to the Murfreesboro community,” Patel wrote. “We can’t wait to open this location and serve our delicious food to the local community and all.”

Patel confirmed that he plans to open Murfreesboro’s first Schlotzsky’s late this summer with a grand opening to follow shortly thereafter.
