The locations will focus on the Nashville, Jacksonville and Tampa markets. The company is planning to open three new locations in the Nashville market in 2025, according to reporting by the Nashville Business Journal.
“Our sweet spot is getting behind iconic, fast-growing brands and doing our part — with our capital and our operating expertise — to accelerate that growth while maintaining standards of quality and excellence,” Jim D’Aquila, Virentes managing member and chief investment officer, said in the release. “This investment is the perfect example of that. Shipley’s products are second to none in its marketplace. Shipley’s represents crave-worthy food and for 88 years has lived up to its ‘Make Life Delicious’ reputation.”
Shipley Do-Nuts was founded in Houston in 1936 and has more than 360 locations across 12 states. It is known for serving donuts, coffee and kolaches.
“It was clear from early on that Jim and the team at Virentes understood the food and beverage market and more importantly, our mission to expand into new markets,” Shipley CEO Flynn Dekker said in the release. “This partnership demonstrates the strong confidence our franchise partners have in our brand and our growth strategy. As we continue to modernize our operations and enhance our customer experience, investments like these are crucial in bringing the Shipley magic to more communities.”
At this time, precise locations and further details regarding opening timelines have not been released.
