The popular barbecue restaurant Shotgun Willie’s BBQ recently announced on its social media they will be relocating to 1500 Gallatin Pike S. in Madison, Tennesee in order to double the available size of the restaurant to better cater to high demand. The original location stands in East Nashville at 4000B Gallatin Pike, with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until they’ve sold out.
The restaurant is expected to reopen in the new space soon, possibly sometime this summer, though an official grand opening date has not yet been shared.
The business was originally founded in 2020 by owner Bill LaViolette, who spoke to What Now Nashville about the excitement around having a bigger space.
“We are literally doubling everything about Shotgun Willie’s BBQ: Double the indoor seating. Double the outdoor Ranch seating. Double the kitchen space. Double the smoker (allowing us to significantly ramp up our cooks). More spaces and more accessible parking! Everything about this new location is above and beyond what I ever imagined Shotgun Willie’s BBQ becoming – and it’s all because some really great customers have been supporting us since we opened our doors in May 2020,” Bill said in an email.
The bigger building will not only accommodate more customers but will also mean the business can host events and offer entertainment.
“This new space is going to allow us to do some of the things we’ve only been able to dream about at our current location. While we’re going to keep our current lunch hours we can now facilitate some special events in the evening, including live music, ‘dine in’ movie nights, cookouts on The Ranch, special menu items, Houston Astros playoff baseball watch parties, and more! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us,” Bill said.
The Texas-style barbecue at Shotgun Willies BBQ includes Southern favorites like smoked brisket, ribs, chicken, and a variety of side dishes like mac n cheese, dill pickle potato salad, beans, coleslaw, and cornbread.
