According to reporting by Nashville Business Journal, the original Ernie’s Boondock opened in 2019 in Des Moines. Sam Summers owns Ernie’s Boondock, as well as Up-Down, an arcade bar which occupies the floor above the new bar.

Summers did not immediately return What Now Nashville’s request for a comment.

Permits filed with Metro indicate plans for a 3 foot by 4 foot sign off the side of the building. The sign refers to the concept as “Ernie’s II Boondock”. Designs submitted for the building’s interior indicate an 18-seat bar, nine four-seat tables, and six booths.

Additional permits note plans for renovations to the interior of the space but no modifications to the footprint of the building.

What Now Nashville cannot confirm an opening date at this time. More details to come.
