Nashville’s Donelson neighborhood continues to grow as more retail and dining options choose to expand in the area. According to a recently signed lease at the just-built Emery Commons, a new tenant called Doug and Dolly’s Cookie Cottage will open later this year at 329 Donelson Pike. Co-owners Marc Giguere and Doug Lacy helm the operations, having previously sold their baked goods at the Nashville Flea Market before finding the perfect place for a more permanent home.

“We’re hoping to have the build-out completed in 4-6 months, it just depends on permits, inspections, and construction timelines,” Giguere told What Now Nashville.

Doug and Dolly’s focuses on offering hand-crafted cookies made with premium all-natural ingredients in small batches from Doug’s own recipes. The menu features familiar, classic flavors with a gourmet flair along with rotating unique flavor creations. In addition to its core cookie offerings, Doug and Dolly’s will offer gluten-free cookies and a beverage menu including cold milk, chocolate milk, and locally sourced coffee from a partnership with Blue Line Roasting Co.

“We’ll roll out a few gourmet flavors each month throughout the year,” Giguere added.

When asked about why the team chose Donelson, Giguere shared that the area is close to home for him and Lacy.

“We have both worked in Donelson and Marc lived there when he first moved to Nashville to work for The Nashville Network. Doug worked part-time as a bartender at Hyatt House near the airport and often sent customers to our favorite restaurant, Darfon’s. When we learned about their new complex at Emery Commons, including Salento’s and Sweet Milk, we knew it would be a perfect spot for our gourmet cookies business.  Hip Donelson is a thriving, growing community and we’re excited to be in the mix!” Giguere said.

Customers can keep updated about Doug and Dolly’s new location on its website, Facebook, and Instagram page.
