The acclaimed NYC-based Pastis restaurant is expanding its reach with new locations in 2023, including one in Nashville. Co-owners Keith McNally and Stephen Starr have partnered with locally-based developer Adventurous Journeys to put Pastis inside the May Hosiery Mills project, also home to Soho House Nashville and Apple Music. The historic brick building dates back to 1909 and used to operate as the South’s oldest sock factory. Located on Houston Street, the restaurant will be within the rapidly growing Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.

Pastis will serve traditional French fare including escargot, beef bourguignon, and Niçoise salad. Their flagship restaurant in Manhattan currently offers a full breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert menu.

Although an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the restaurant is slated to open sometime this year, and was originally announced in April 2022.

According to Eater Nashville, the decor will include “gold lighting, leather banquettes, subway tile, Parisian bistro chairs, and, in Nashville, ‘factory-style windows overlooking the neighborhood.'”

Nashville’s current French restaurant market is slim. Pastis will be one of the few, joining Once Upon a Time In France and Chateau West French restaurants in Music City.
