Co-owners Christa Suppan and Jonda Valentine have owned and operated The Lipstick Lounge since 2002.  The business-partner duo is hoping to extend the warm welcome people have come to expect in The Lipstick Lounge to Chapstick.

What Now Nashville spoke with co-owner Jonda Valentine over the phone.

“Chapstick will almost be an extension of Lipstick, but the big difference is that it will be opening earlier in the day and showing sports,” said Valentine. “It will be a great place for people wanting to be in a fun, welcoming environment earlier in the evening rather than late at night.”

Reporting by New York Business Journal shows that Chapstick will be a 1,500 square-foot addition on the southside of The Lipstick Lounge. There will be a covered back patio space as well. Chapstick plans to show both men’s and women’s sporting events.

Suppan and Valentine see Chapstick as a natural transition and exciting next chapter in their careers as restaurateurs.

“I am very excited by the idea of having a sports bar,” said Valentine. “We have been trying to do this for a few years and now we are in a place to be able to make it happen.”

There is no current estimate on when Chapstick will open, but if all goes according to plan, Valentine anticipates they will start breaking ground in the next few weeks.
