Streetcar Taps & Beer Garden was founded by Carter Hach and his high school friend, Henry Beveridge.

“We just wanted to develop a spot in that neighborhood where family friends could gather watch games, have great food, have drinks,” Hach told What Now.

The restaurant will be at the same location where the historic streetcars ran. Hach added that their hope is to bring to light a lot of Nashville’s forgotten history and pay respect to the immigrants who started the neighborhood.

Hach is also hoping to pay respect to his family history, specifically to his grandmother, late American chef, restaurant owner, author and caterer Phila Hach.

“She had a long career that included catering the United Nations, writing 19 books, having one of the very first cooking shows,” Hach said. “I followed in her footsteps.”

Hach plans to release his first book within a week.

The gastropub on Charlotte Avenue will be a mix of beer with delicious food.

“We’ll have about 20 taps a little bit elevated for bar food with seasonally driven menus and charming and southern inspiration,” he said.

He added that the signature dish will be Tennessee Po’boys, with ingredients such as pork, brisket, fried chicken and liver.

Currently, the space is being built out, with a tentative opening date of Spring, 2023.

“We’re very authentic to Nashville, with a great respect for the history of the neighborhood ,” Hach said. “The food we’ll be putting out is going to be an homage to past Nashville and the immigrants who settled here.”
