New York Butcher Shoppe, a specialty market and deli originally based in South Carolina, will be coming to Nashville as early as this August at 2002 Richard Jones Street. The new location will be owned and operated by franchisee Matt Kormylo, who has been with the company since its beginning.
“Our tentative timeline for opening is around August this coming fall/late summer. The location will be very similar to the existing NYBS shops, but tailored to the Nashville theme,” Kormylo said.
What Now Nashville spoke with Kormylo about the history of the business as well as what’s in store for the future.
“I’m originally from Greenville, South Carolina, where I worked for the corporate store while taking college classes. I worked there for close to two years as I helped the company grow. After graduating in December, I moved to Green Hills, right across the street from where the store will be. When I started working for the company, I fell in love with the concept, and I am sure this community will love our high-quality products and customer service,” Kormylo said.
The Nashville location of New York Butcher Shoppe will offer catering services as well as a deli serving ready-to-eat meals, like chicken parmesan, goat cheese mashed potatoes, assorted quiches, pasta, and salads.
The store’s website prides itself as “a family-friendly market that blends the best of today’s freshness and style with the traditional values, personal service, and wholesomeness you expect from the neighborhood grocer, but seldom find at other specialty markets,” it states.
Kormylo described that when scouting locations, Nashville stood out as a perfect market to expand in.
“Green Hills struck us because there isn’t anything like us. We are most excited about bringing a new concept to the area. With every store that we open, we find that the local community is very supportive and surprised at the multitude of offerings we have,” Kormylo said.
Some of the unique offerings include a diverse array of internationally sourced groceries for customers to purchase.
“We specialize in being your personal, convenient butcher shop. We carry high-quality beef, poultry, pork, seafood, and many homemade prepared meals. We are not your traditional ‘butcher shop.’ Our focus is creating an enjoyable shopping experience for each customer.
