“Our official opening date will depend on when construction finishes, but as of right now, we are looking at December 11th for our opening,” co-owner Marty Bell told What Now Nashville.

“The journey to opening Mr. Brews Taphouse was a significant career shift for me. Previously, I had a 19-year career with Hertz Corporation and a total of 26 years in the rental car industry. I stated I would only be working for two more years, and after that, I wanted to do something in the community or open my own business.”

“I had a two-year stay in Southern California during the pandemic, and that provided the opportunity to visit numerous breweries and taphouses. The vision became clear to me then – a taphouse or pub was the desired path. My wife, Mindi Bell who is the other co-owner, and I considered multiple franchises, and we ultimately felt that Mr. Brews stood out as a welcoming and family-oriented establishment, which we wanted.”

“We take a lot of pride in being female-owned as well as veteran-owned. We also are locals, with my wife being originally from Woodbury, and I originally from Nashville, and we have lived in Murfreesboro for the last 18 years,” Marty added.

One of the highlights of Mr. Brews Taphouse is its extensive beer selection, boasting a variety of 60 different craft beers on tap. The establishment aims to offer a menu that encourages patrons to stay and dine, avoiding the need to look for meals elsewhere. While the menu is not overly complex, it emphasizes the use of house-made sauces, multiple hours of preparation by a dedicated team, and a commitment to using only fresh, never-frozen Hereford beef for its burgers.

The menu features a range of options, including wings, wraps, burger bowls, salads, and a Wisconsin favorite – cheese curds. In addition, the Bells are considering the introduction of a locally inspired Indiana pork tenderloin, with each pub customizing some menu choices to cater to the tastes of the local area.
