A popular dining spot across the south and midwest, Drake’s, recently announced plans to open another Tennessee location in addition to its six others in the state. The new site will be located at the future Clari Park development in Murfreesboro along Roby Corlew Lane, with an exact address forthcoming. It’s likely to open sometime next year, given construction and permitting efforts.
Based out of Lexington, Kentucky, Drake’s falls under the Bluegrass Hospitality Group concepts, which also include Malone’s, Harry’s American Bar and Grill, Aqua Sushi, and OBC Kitchen. Bluegrass Hospitality was founded in 1998 by Brian McCarty and Bruce Drake.
Drake’s specializes in offering burgers of the month, special membership rewards, and happy hour specials. Its menu ranges from burgers, beer, steak, sushi, salads, chili, fried pickles, buffalo chicken quesadillas, and more, according to an article from local news site Boro Pulse.
According to its website, the origin of Drake’s come from filling a niche in the area.
“Legend has it, Bruce Drake, co-founder of Drake’s, couldn’t sleep one night. So he grabbed his keys and went out in search of a good burger and good music in the kind of place he’d want to hang out in at any hour. To his surprise, that place didn’t exist. Most people would have given up and gone back to bed. But Bruce, being Bruce, hit speed dial and said, ‘Brian? Wake up buddy, I have this idea…’ And a concept called Drake’s was born,” states Drake’s website.
Customers can stay tuned for updates regarding Drake’s new Murfreesboro location on the “coming soon” section of its website as well as Instagram. A representative from Bluegrass Hospitality Group was not immediately available for comment.
