Nearly two months after taking over the Juice Bar in Spring Hill, Elizabeth and Handel Arango are starting to make the store their own.
The Arangos took over the Juice Bar in August from the previous owner Bill Benedict.
Since then, they’ve made few changes such as “giving the inside of the store a fresh look,” Handel Arango told What Now.
“We did some makeover inside the house,” Arango said. “We gave it a fresh look. There’s a swing outside that’s attached to one of the big old trees. It’s very family friendly.”
As new business owners, the Arangos have both short and long term goals for the store. Their first goal is to attract new customers and employees.
“It’s been difficult trying to find the right staff that can be counted on ,” Arango said. “No one is looking for a job. The only ones that are looking for work are teenagers.” This can mean that instead of hiring one person, the Arangos may need to hire three people for just one job.
As a family-friendly store, Spring Hill’s Juice Bar offers different local selections that can’t be found at other Juice Bars. For example, the store offers protein bites that are either peanut or almond butter flavored. For the pumpkin season, the Juice Bar offers pumpkin almond butter bites.
Unlike most Juice Bars, Spring Hill’s sells not only custom soups, but also sandwich wraps.
“A lot of our customers tend to come back and tend to get things that we have that other stores don’t” Arango said.
Once they’ve made this location successful, the Arangos hope to expand and own another Juice Bar location.
But for now, they want potential customers and employees to know that Spring Hill’s is a fun and welcoming environment.
“Liz and I tend to run it in a very relaxed way,” Arango said. “It’s a family environment.”
