The Tex-Mex establishment Tijuana Flats will be opening 50 new locations throughout the Southeast by 2025, according to a recent news announcement.
Nashville is slated to be a territory of interest, and although no official leases have been signed yet, Tijuana Flats officials tell What Now Nashville that they are currently scouting locations in Nashville.
“We’re looking into locations in the area, but nothing has been set in stone yet,” Jamie Cecil, Vice President of Development and Franchise Operations told What Now Nashville.
The restaurant chain recently opened the option to franchise its locations, which will aid in the growth it hopes to achieve in the next two years. There are currently 123 locations in four states, including Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois, according to its website.
“For the first time in 15 years, Tijuana Flats announced that it is seeking franchise partners interested in opening locations in Florida, as well as in emerging markets throughout Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee,” states an article about the expansion on QSR.
Known for its modern approach to Mexican classics, Tijuana Flats offers many popular dishes such as cheesy steak flautas, smokin’ chipotle chicken burritos, and baja fish tacos as well as a variety of appetizers like guacamole, queso, and chicken wings.
The restaurant’s brand is uniquely described as a fast-casual hybrid with fresh food, hot sauce bars, art murals, and off-beat culture.
