The eclectic New York-based pizza chain Two Boots has confirmed that they are looking into opening an additional location in the Nashville market, although an official lease has not yet been signed on the second location.
Co-founder of Two Boots Phil Hartman shared with What Now Nashville that “Two Boots Nashville II is in the works, but still very much under negotiations,” in an email. It’s unclear when a potential timeline for opening might be, but it’s likely more than a year out.
Two Boots, well-known for its extensive vegan and gluten-free pizza options, was founded in New York in 1987 by Hartman and co-founder Doris Kornish. The name comes from the geographical shapes of Italy and Louisiana, and the restaurant showcases its Cajun influences throughout its menu and decor, including a pizza called The Bayou Beast, which has spiced shrimp, crawfish, andouille sausage, jalapenos, and mozzarella.
Aside from its six New York locations and one New Jersey location, Two Boots Nashville debuted in 2013. The Music City spot celebrates the local culture with a specialized pizza flavor named after the singer Kitty Wells.
“Kitty Wells revolutionized the role of women in country music, and our tribute pie, The Kitty, is revolutionizing the role of hot chicken in Nashville. An incendiary local delicacy, our hot chix comes from the estimable Hattie B’s restaurant and is complemented by blue cheese and pickles. Pickles on pizza? They don’t call us the ‘Pizza Pioneers’ for nothing,” states the Two Boots website.
What Now Nashville will keep up to date with the opening process of Two Boots Nashville’s second location once more location-specific details emerge.
