According to a press release, locally-owned The Cupcake Collection is expanding with two additional locations. First up is a bakery at 235 E. Main St. in Hendersonville opening in November, followed by a site at 6900 Lenox Village Drive in Lenox Village set to open in the first quarter of 2024. Company officials also say more could be on the way in Nashville’s surrounding suburbs.
The bakery, known for its sweet potato cupcake, was founded in 2008 by best-selling author, Mignon Francois. Francois was a single mother at the time of starting The Cupcake Collection, and her inspiring story includes turning her last $5 into her now multi-million dollar business. Now, Mignon serves as the “Director of Joy” of the brand.
What Now Nashville spoke with The Cupcake Collection’s COO, Dillon Francois, about the company’s milestone 15th anniversary and potential plans for more locations.
When asked about future The Cupcake Collection stores, Francois stated there are a few areas of interest already lined up. “We are interested in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and Hermitage to name a few areas. More importantly, we try to listen to our customers and grow accordingly,” Francois stated.
“We have been in Nashville for 15 years joyfully serving as a staple for cupcake connoisseurs and as a sweet destination for our city. We’re looking forward to bringing the celebration to other areas and growing the recognition of our family brand,” Francois added.
