“We currently do not have a set opening date in mind,” the co-owner, Zephaniah O’Hora, told What Now Nashville.
“The Nashville location will be a lot like the Brooklyn location, but the bar in Brooklyn is much smaller. There will be live music, and it’s kind of a dive bar vibe. The original concept was inspired by Texas and the honkey tonk bars there.”
“I’ve been with Skinny Dennis since it first opened back in 2013 as a talent buyer. One of the main focuses is the music community, expanding that further, and creating a cool space for them to play at,” O’Hora added.
The name Skinny Dennis is in honor of Skinny Dennis Sanchez, a country session musician in the Los Angeles area. His legacy is described as being a bass player in Nashville and playing in Guy Clark’s band during his stay in Los Angeles.
The Brooklyn bar is described to be in the heart of Williamsburg, with a bar featuring 18 draft picks, signature cocktails, a vintage jukebox, and their “infamous” Willie’s frozen coffee. They offer music entertainment seven nights a week, according to the company website.
