According to a recent leasing comp, a new tenant has been revealed for the Bellevue West shopping complex. Cledis Beer Garden and Burgers will open its second location at 7648 Hwy 70 S. Although a grand opening date has not been announced, terms of the 5-year lease indicate Cledis can occupy the space starting in February.

Cledis opened its first location slinging burgers and beers at 1011 Elm Hill Pike in 2022, primarily to carry on a familial legacy in the food industry. Its website elaborates on the mission behind the business.

“Founder and restaurateur Shane Nasby named the restaurant in honor of his late grandpa, Cledis Nolen, who owned and operated the Midway Cafe in Charlottesville, Indiana throughout Shane’s childhood. Inspired by his memories of growing up in a small town, Shane designed Cledis as an homage to a slower and simpler time when sharing a meal at a local restaurant was a way for neighbors to stay connected with one another,” states the Cledis website.

Along with carrying on his family’s legacy, Nasby hopes Cledis can serve to bring the community closer together through volunteer work in partnership with another local business, People Loving Nashville, which will open a non-profit coffee shop in February called Paradeisos.

“Cledis is CLOSED on Mondays to give our staff and customers the opportunity to volunteer for the charitable organization of their choice. Collectively, we partner with People Loving Nashville, a non-profit organization with a mission focused on relief, relationships, and restoration for the unhoused in our city. We spend time on Mondays making and serving meals and building relationships with these friends from PLN,” the website says.

Cledis’ food menu encompasses a variety of cheeseburgers, sandwiches, chicken wings, fried kielbasa sausage, french fries, and can accommodate vegetarians with a veggie patty substitute as well as gluten-free diets.

What Now Nashville reached out to Nasby for additional comment regarding the new location but did not immediately receive a response by the time of publication. Stay tuned for updates on Cledis’ website and Instagram page.
