According to recent permits, Five Daughters Bakery is opening another location, bringing its famous hundred-layer donuts to The Gulch. The future location will be inside the mixed-use building Icon in The Gulch, offering an address of 602 12th Ave. S.
News of expanding again comes after the company announced in May a location would open in Assembly Food Hall at Fifth and Broadway with a tentative opening timeline of fall 2023.
Though an exact opening timeline for The Gulch location is unknown, the project may open within a few months in the new year. Permits filed with Metro in September noted a special approval process needed for an electrical permit for outdoor signage of the bakery.
Five Daughters was founded in 2015 out of Isaac and Stephanie Meek’s home in Franklin, Tennessee. The husband-and-wife team has since expanded with seven locations and named the company after their own five daughters, Dylan, Lucy, Maggie, Evangeline, and Constance. The couple started the bakery as a way to escape corporate life and bring the family closer together, according to The Tennessean.
The new location is slated to offer a full espresso menu alongside seasonal and popular donut flavors like hundred-layer Chocolate Sea Salt, Maple Glaze, and King Kong, which combines the Maple Glaze topped with bacon. The bakery is also expected to offer a few keto and vegan options, similar to its other locations.
