Pennsylvania-based Wawa is slated to join Springfield, Tennessee in the near future with Nashville on its horizon. Initial building plans were submitted to the city of Springfield in July for a yet-to-be-developed site near Tom Austin Hwy & Memorial Blvd. It will take over a former Rite-Aid location as part of the site.

The convenience store and gas station chain offers built-to-order food options and handcrafted caffeinated beverages. Its online menu consists of breakfast sandwiches, salads, wraps, hoagies, and soups. Customers have the ability to customize their meal of choice through a modernized touchscreen ordering system, allowing for modifications to be easily accommodated.

“We use only the freshest ingredients to offer you quality and satisfaction you can count on every time you enjoy our foods. Whether it’s time for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or somewhere in between, you’re sure to find something to suit your appetite,” states Wawa’s website.

According to Wawa Senior Manager of Media Relations Lori Bruce, the company is actively researching sites to enter the Nashville market, though it is too early to tell any timeline for opening. The family-owned-and-operated company has over 1,000 locations across the country.

“As a privately held, family and associate-owned company, we are most excited to share our unique culture and store experience, which has resulted in family-like bonds with our associates, our customers and our communities,” Bruce stated in a news release. “As our Wawa family grows into new markets, we will forever treasure the important role we play in fulfilling customers’ lives.”

Stay tuned for updates regarding Wawa’s future Springfield location as it grows closer to an opening date. What Now Nashville reached out Wawa officials but did not immediately hear a response.
