Fire Korean BBQ is set to open soon near the downtown area, according to recent permits and job listings. Though the details are still unfolding about the new concept and its website and Instagram are under development, co-owners David Carulla and Sean McCooey confirmed with What Now Nashville that they are overseeing the new project. Both are veteran restaurant owners of Jefferson’s, a casual American cuisine chain, operating 12 locations across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Carulla and McCooey are shooting for an October or November opening timeline.

“Fire Korean BBQ & Bar will introduce a new style of dining to Murfreesboro and the surrounding communities,” McCooey told What Now Nashville in an email.

Murfreesboro, a popular Nashville suburb, offers plenty of chain restaurants in the area but lacks authentic and diverse restaurants. Fire Korean BBQ will add another option to the mix, ushering forth a new wave of Asian-American influenced spots on the heels of similar concepts like Gogi Korean BBQ coming soon to the area.

Korean BBQ is a unique concept that allows its guests to cook their food to their liking, with a specialized grill built into the table. Dishes often include Wagyu steak, bulgogi beef, pork belly, and a variety of soups and side dishes.

“We will be offering a full menu of traditional Korean cuisine, but also a full sushi menu and bar service. Guests will be able to experience our selection of thinly sliced marinated proteins, including beef, pork, chicken and shrimp served with an assortment of traditional Korean Banchan. The meal will be prepared at each table by the guest with assistance from our team for a personalized dining experience,” McCooey stated.

Stay tuned for additional opening details on Fire Korean BBQ’s website.
