The minds behind popular East Nashville bar Rosemary and Beauty Queen are coming together to create a new neighborhood concept. Building permits filed with Metro indicate the location of the yet-to-be-named concept will be at 200 S. 11th St. in a historic Five Points home, across from the recently opened Bad Idea wine bar and restaurant.
According to reporting from the Nashville Business Journal, the new space will offer a 3,400-square-foot restaurant and “will take inspiration of Rosemary & Beauty Queen’s design, but be more food-focused, more low-key, and cater toward a bit older of a crowd,” managing partner of Rosemary, Andrew Mischke, told NBJ.
Much like Rosemary and Beauty Queen, the upcoming concept will be housed in a former residential home with plenty of unique charm and quirkiness, perfectly fitting in with the neighborhood it will call home. The NBJ article also notes that a wood-fired oven will be on site, although specific menu details are forthcoming due to the project being a year or more away from opening.
Mischke and business partner Jim O’Shea reportedly bought the building at 200 S. 11th St. for $1.4 million. Permits valued at $1.05 million will be used for construction needed to renovate the architecture, handled by local firm Design Build Partners.
Though many of the details about the upcoming concept are unknown, it’s sure to be welcomed with open arms by East’s local community, just as Rosemary’s was in 2017 when it first opened doors. An interview with Rosemary’s partners to provide additional detail is forthcoming.
