A new Murfreesboro business is launching a pop-up location to debut its European-inspired concept. L’Orange European Bistro will launch at the Williamson Family Farm at 3250 Wilkinson Pike this month. Eventually, the bistro will scout nearby sites for a more permanent location, with the hope to open a brick-and-mortar location in the downtown Murfreesboro square within the next two years, then later expand the concept to Franklin.

Husband-and-wife founders Stephanie and chef Christophe Moulin created L’Orange to share their passion for food, travel, and culture from their experiences together abroad and from Christophe’s Parisian upbringing.

What Now Nashville spoke with Stephanie to learn more about the inspiration behind the concept and their plans for its future.

“My husband and I moved to Murfreesboro about a year and a half ago and soon realized the gap in the market and demand for more locally owned restaurants,” Stephanie wrote in an email.

“We found ourselves driving to Nashville every weekend to try a new restaurant. Chris was born in Paris and went to culinary school there and trained in kitchens for 15+ years. I have traveled and lived all over the world and we felt like this area was lacking restaurants with culture, charm, ambiance, and good food. We wanted to create an immersive European experience where people feel they are dining in an Italian or French bistro for a night,” Stephanie added.

L’Orange will begin service on March 10th as a pop-up event, and will start being open for two days every other week, eventually increasing service. The initial opening will serve as an opportunity for the Moulins to establish the L’Orange name, test the menu, and understand the demographic. Its food menu will feature an array of farm-to-table dishes, including Stephanie’s favorite, panna cotta made with Madagascar vanilla beans and topped with a berry coulis and “cat’s tongue” shortbread cookie.

“The prix fixe four-course menu will rotate monthly and feature seasonal produce directly from local certified organic farms,” Stephanie said. “I think the team is excited that Williamson Family Farm is actually going to be producing most of our veggies and fruits come late summer so it will be a truly unique farm-to-table experience. They love being a part of something different for this city and are looking forward to our Sunday brunches,” she added.
