According to documents submitted to the Metro Planning Department, the West Coast fast-food favorite In-N-Out is targeting Goodlettsville for its next confirmed location in the Volunteer State. This news comes as In-N-Out previously appointed Franklin as its first Southeast HQ and Antioch as an additional site location.

An opening timeline for the new location is unknown, but is likely to be a few years away as the process is very early in development. The first Tennessee In-N-Out location is set for a 2025 opening in Franklin’s Berry Farms development.

The In-N-Out Goodlettsville location will neighbor the RiverGate Mall, with a 2.08-acre site recently submitted for development near 1000 Rivergate Pkwy. The site includes a 3,860-square-foot restaurant with a dual drive-thru, outdoor patio, and parking, according to recent reporting by the Nashville Business Journal.

“We recently filed a development application with the city of Goodlettsville for a site. However, it is still very early in the development process, so we are hopeful for a positive outcome, as we work with the City in pursuit of our permits and approvals,” Mike Abbate, Vice President of Store Development for In-N-Out, told What Now Nashville when contacted for comment.

Founded in 1948 in California by Harry Snyder, In-N-Out offers a variety of classic American comfort food items including burgers, cheeseburgers, fries, soda, milkshakes, and a secret menu ordering system that results in the popular “animal-style,” which includes mustard fried into each patty, pickles, chopped grilled onions and an extra helping of In-N-Out’s famous sauce. Hamburger patties are made from 100% American beef and whole chucks are boned and ground by In-N-Out’s own butchers. All patties are produced and delivered fresh throughout the week to the stores and are never frozen. French fries are made from fresh, whole potatoes and are hand-diced, according to its website.

Over the years, the brand has grown to 385 locations primarily throughout the West Coast in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Colorado.

What Now Nashville will continue following In-N-Out’s expansion efforts in Tennessee as its arrival gets closer.
